The 26th edition of the “Prishtina 2026” Marathon has begun, featuring the full 42-kilometer distance.
The main race is now underway, with the start and finish located in front of the National Theatre of Kosovo in the capital.
In addition to the full marathon, the program includes a 21.1-kilometer half marathon, a 10-kilometer race and a 5-kilometer race. Children can also take part in a 2-kilometer family run.
Around 1,600 participants have registered, including professional runners as well as competitors who will be taking on the 42-kilometer distance for the first time.
Prishtina has therefore been transformed today into a major sporting arena and a celebration for running enthusiasts.
The Kosovo Police announced that traffic restrictions will be in place on several roads in Prishtina and Fushë Kosovë as a result of the international “Prishtina 2026” Marathon.
Police said that on Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. until the marathon concludes, vehicle traffic will be suspended on the Prishtina–Fushë Kosovë road, in the direction of Peja and vice versa, up to the connection with the “Ibrahim Rugova” Highway.
