The Assembly of Kosovo has approved key international agreements with the European Union, known as the Growth Plan, paving the way for Kosovo to benefit from more than €882 million in financial support aimed at accelerating reforms and economic development.

According to Hekuran Murati, the financial package consists of one-third grants, while €629 million will be provided in the form of loans. He emphasized that the funds will be released gradually based on Kosovo’s implementation of structural and economic reforms.

The agreement received strong parliamentary backing, with 104 votes in favor, while lawmakers from Lista Serbe abstained from voting.

The financial assistance is part of the European Union’s €6 billion support package for the Western Balkans, which was initially approved in late 2023. However, the disbursement of funds for Kosovo was delayed for several months due to political deadlock in parliament.

The approved funds are allocated for the period between 2024 and 2027, and are expected to boost economic competitiveness, strengthen fiscal stability, and support sustainable development projects across Kosovo.

Experts note that the Growth Plan represents a significant opportunity for Kosovo to accelerate its European integration path, provided that reform commitments are implemented effectively and within the agreed timeline.
