Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, following his meeting with European Union Office Head Aivo Orav, emphasized the urgency for Kosovo to obtain EU candidate country status and receive the questionnaire from the European Commission.
During the meeting, Kurti also discussed the recently approved EU Growth Plan in the Assembly, noting its total value of €882.6 million, of which nearly 30% are grants and over 70% are loans.
“I thanked Ambassador Orav for his congratulations on the formation of the 10th-legislature Assembly and the government, as well as for the approval of the EU Growth Plan, which is of comprehensive value to our Republic,” Kurti said.
The Prime Minister underscored that the European Union is a reliable partner for Kosovo. “We reiterated Kosovo’s commitment to being a trustworthy and serious partner to the EU. We consider the EU an organization of peace and security, where we aim both to contribute and to benefit. For this reason, it is essential to secure candidate country status and receive the European Commission’s questionnaire as soon as possible. This will help accelerate our reform agenda, which will undoubtedly be a priority of our government,” Kurti added.
Ambassador Aivo Orav congratulated Kurti on his third election as Prime Minister, expressing support for Kosovo’s ongoing European integration efforts.
