Former UK ambassador to the United States of America, Peter Mandelson, was arrested on February 23 in Camden on suspicion of misuse of public office, the Police reported. The 72-year-old was taken to a London police station for questioning after raids at two addresses in Camden and Wiltshire.
Mandelson had been appointed ambassador to Washington by Keir Starmer in December 2024 but was dismissed last September following revelations about his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
This arrest comes just days after the arrest of former royal Andrew, Duke of York, who is also suspected of misuse of office.
