Two British Wildcat helicopters have arrived in Cyprus following Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s pledge to strengthen defenses on the Mediterranean island.

Starmer announced on Thursday that the helicopters, equipped with anti-drone capabilities, are being deployed alongside the HMS Dragon, which is expected to arrive in Cyprus in the coming weeks.

The UK is also sending four additional Typhoon fighter jets to Qatar, according to BBC.

Footage released by the Ministry of Defence shows a Wildcat helicopter being unloaded from a Royal Air Force C-17 transport aircraft in Cyprus.
