In an interview with Ekonomia Online, former U.S. Colonel Philippe Rogers commented on statements made by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who continues to view Kosovo as part of Serbia.
Rogers described the situation as highly sensitive and a recurring point of tension for Vučić, emphasizing that Kosovo’s independence is effectively a completed matter.
He cited a striking metaphor he heard from a medical professional during a speech, saying:
“Kosovo is like a funeral where no one from Serbia will attend.”
Rogers noted that while the statement may be controversial, it aptly captures how Serbia perceives Kosovo and the persistent political challenges surrounding the region.
