Russia Bombards Northern and Central Ukraine, 2 Dead and 30 Injured

Russian military airstrikes in northern and central Ukraine have killed at least two people and injured around 30 others, local officials reported Monday evening.

Near the city of Poltava, debris from a downed unmanned aerial vehicle killed one person, injured three others, and damaged an apartment building, regional governor Vitaly Diakinvych reported via Telegram. A child was among the injured.

“According to updated information, unfortunately one person has died. Three people were injured. Two were hospitalized, including a boy,” he wrote.

Drone strikes and artillery fire killed a 65-year-old man in the neighboring Dnipropetrovsk region near Nikopol, regional governor Oleksandr Ganza said via Telegram. He added that two others were injured in the city and twelve across the region.

Two Russian bombs struck a community in the Sumy region, near the Russian border, injuring 13 people, including a 6-year-old girl, regional governor Oleh Khryhorov reported on Telegram. Fifteen homes and vehicles were damaged.

On Tuesday morning, a Russian drone crashed onto the balcony of a third-floor apartment in Odessa, injuring a man, according to a statement from Oleh Kiper, head of the Odessa Regional State Administration.
