The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, following his meeting with the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, has stated that the talks between the parties were unsuccessful.

Kurti said that none of the proposals presented by Vetëvendosje were accepted by Abdixhiku, adding that the country is heading toward new elections, which he described as unnecessary and costly for the state.

“In this way, Kosovo is heading toward new elections that are unnecessary, that waste the state’s time and burden the Kosovo budget. New elections cost at least 1 million euros and will not bring a solution because we will not have the 80 votes needed to form a quorum. We should have made greater efforts, and our offer for governance should not have been rejected,” Kurti stated.
