According to Lebanese state media, Israeli forces have struck the southern Lebanese town of Qantara today, carrying out a “bombing operation.” The Israeli military has not yet commented on the attack, BBC reports.
Earlier, the IDF said it had targeted a Hezbollah rocket launcher in the Kfarkela area, about 8.5 km from Qantara.
The strikes come despite the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon that came into effect on April 16–17. Under the agreement, Lebanon is required to prevent armed groups such as Hezbollah from launching attacks on Israel, while the IDF says it remains present in the south due to ongoing Hezbollah activity.
