The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has confirmed that there is agreement for a joint electoral participation with President Vjosa Osmani in the upcoming June 7 elections.
Speaking to the media after a meeting of the party leadership, Abdixhiku said discussions focused on preparations for the early elections and the LDK candidate list.
He announced that the party has agreed to convene its General Council on Saturday to finalize all preparatory electoral matters.
“A key point of the meeting was the idea of a broad unification… We voted and agreed to formalize, in cooperation with Vjosa Osmani, a joint electoral run in the upcoming elections, but I need a few more days to finalize discussions with her,” Abdixhiku said.
He added that “there was agreement for a joint electoral run.”
The June 7 vote is part of the early parliamentary elections scheduled in Kosovo, organized by the Central Election Commission.
