The Government of Kosovo has approved a new decision amending and supplementing a previous measure on the implementation of international sanctions, aiming to further align its foreign policy with the European Union.

The move is intended to bring Kosovo closer to the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy, particularly regarding restrictive measures against Russia and Belarus.

The decision was welcomed by Eva Palatová, Acting Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo.

“Increasing voluntary alignment of Kosovo with the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy is a strong and welcome signal of its commitment to shared values and integration,” Palatová said. “I welcome the government’s latest decision to align with additional EU sanctions and political declarations, including those targeting Russia and Belarus.”

Kosovo has consistently expressed its intention to harmonize its foreign policy with that of the European Union, viewing such steps as part of its broader path toward European integration.
