Students currently leading the blockades of higher education institutions in Belgrade have announced a new coordinated action titled “(Ne) bojte se, i dalje smo tu” ((Don’t) Be Afraid, We Are Still Here). The protest is scheduled for Sunday, May 10, signaling a continuation of their resistance and demands.

The event is set to begin at 11:52 AM in front of the Faculty of Law, a symbolic time chosen to pay tribute to the victims of the tragic roof collapse at the Novi Sad Railway Station.

Agenda for May 10

According to the official announcement shared via social media, the day will be divided into several phases:

  • 11:52 AM: A period of silence in front of the Faculty of Law to honor those lost in the Novi Sad tragedy.
  • 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM: An interactive “sticker printing” action featuring the slogan “Students Win” (Studenti pobeđuju), followed by a gathering at the University Rectorate.
  • 3:00 PM: A protest march will commence from the Rectorate, moving toward key state institutions, including:
    • The National Assembly
    • The Faculty of Law
    • Slavija Square
    • The Presidency Building

Continued Resistance

The students have been vocal in their opposition to government policies and have maintained blockades at various university faculties throughout the week. By moving the protest to the streets and targeting the Presidency and the Assembly, the organizers aim to escalate the visibility of their movement.

“See you on Sunday,” the students stated in their public invitation, reaffirming their resolve despite ongoing pressures.

The Belgrade police are expected to monitor the route closely, and traffic disruptions are anticipated along the main arteries of the city center throughout Sunday afternoon.
