The Kosovo Police, in cooperation with the Kosovo Customs, has announced that it has prevented a case of smuggling goods worth 30,000 euros.
This was announced through a press release.
“On 21.05.2024, the aforementioned unit, in the North Macedonia-Kosovo border zone, detained a male suspect who was driving a van/van with local license plates without a driver’s license,” the announcement states.
During the check, it was noticed that the suspect was loaded with several packages with different goods as follows: “Takovo” syrup about 900 liters, Grande filters about 70,000 pieces, Gentelmen filters about 450,000 pieces, glass jars with honey in quantity of about 1200 kg, 28 pairs of shoes, 2 rocking chairs with tracking devices and 2 mirrors.
“The above-mentioned goods that are suspected of being smuggled according to the market value reach the figure of around €30,000. Regarding the case, all actions were undertaken in cooperation with the prosecutor’s office, where by order of the prosecutor, the suspected person is sent to the detention center for 48 hours, while the smuggled goods and the vehicle are seized and sent to the relevant customs terminal”, the announcement states.
