The application of the Republic of Kosovo to be an associate member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly will be on the agenda of the meeting that this institution will hold from May 25 to 27 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Such a thing is confirmed in the published agenda, where it is shown that the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO will also take a decision on the request of the Assembly of Kosovo for Kosovo to become an associate member.

“Discussions will also extend to partnerships. The Assembly is expected to approve a deep reform of its partnerships and to decide on the requests of Malta and the Assembly of Kosovo to become associated member delegations”, the agenda states, reports Gazeta Express.
In these meetings in Sofia, the challenges in the Western Balkan region will be discussed, along with strategies to support partners at risk and to increase engagement.
“These discussions will underline the Assembly’s commitment to stability in key regions of strategic interest, as well as to promoting broader dialogue on global challenges,” the agenda states.
During the session, all 281 members of the Assembly from 32 NATO member countries, together with around 100 members from 25 partner countries and parliamentary bodies, will address key topics on the Euro-Atlantic defense and security agenda, focusing on support for Ukraine and the priorities for the NATO Summit in July in Washington.
The meeting, which will take place during NATO’s 75th anniversary year, will be the first session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, where Swedish parliamentarians participate as full members.
