U.S. President Donald Trump has arrived in Geneva ahead of this week’s G7 summit, where his newly announced agreement with Iran is expected to be a major topic of discussion.
Trump flew overnight from Washington, departing in the early hours of the morning after attending a UFC event on the South Lawn of the White House.
From Geneva Airport, he is expected to travel to Évian-les-Bains, the Alpine resort town hosting this year’s G7 summit.
Later today, Trump is scheduled to hold a one-on-one meeting with Emmanuel Macron, the French president and host of the summit. The two leaders have had a frequently complex and at times tense relationship.
The G7 gathering is expected to focus on global security, economic cooperation, ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, and international trade issues.
