The Assembly of Court Presidents and Supervising Judges has elected Fëllanza Knushaj, President of the Basic Court in Gjakova, as the new Vice Chair of the Assembly, further strengthening her role within Kosovo’s judicial system.
The decision was made during Monday’s session of the Assembly, where Knushaj competed against Shpresa Emra, President of the Basic Court in Prizren.
In the voting process, Knushaj secured a decisive victory with 12 votes, while Emra received three votes. One ballot was declared invalid.
According to the Assembly, Knushaj’s mandate as Vice Chair will remain in effect for the duration of her term as President of the Basic Court in Gjakova.
Her candidacy was proposed by Ngadhnjim Arrni, President of the Basic Court in Pristina, while Emra was nominated by Valon Totaj.
The appointment places Knushaj in a key leadership position within Kosovo’s judiciary, where the Assembly plays an important role in coordinating the work of courts and addressing issues related to the administration of justice across the country.
