Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti welcomed a delegation from the America250 initiative today, including Balkan experts Daniel Serwer and Edward Joseph.

According to Kurti, the delegation consisted of distinguished figures from academia, politics, the military, and other fields from both Kosovo and the United States.

Greeting the delegation ahead of the U.S. Independence Day celebrations, Kurti said:

“Happy Independence Day! Two hundred and fifty years—two and a half centuries, a quarter of a millennium—that have been extraordinarily important for the entire world.”

In a statement following the meeting, Kurti said the discussions focused on Kosovo’s recent progress and opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation.

“Today I welcomed to the Prime Minister’s Office the delegation of the America250 initiative, a bipartisan project established by the United States Congress. The delegation included distinguished personalities from academia, politics, the military, and other fields from Kosovo and the United States.

In a warm and sincere meeting, we discussed Kosovo’s remarkable progress in recent years and ways to further strengthen cooperation for the country’s continued development in various sectors, including foreign policy, energy, defense, and security.”
