A bomb explosion at a crowded café in central Damascus has killed at least six people and injured 22 others, according to Syrian state media.

The Ministry of Interior stated that an explosive device had been planted inside the café, which is located just 100 meters from the Palace of Justice, a major government building in the Hejaz district of the Syrian capital, RKS News reports.

No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

The incident marks the deadliest bombing in Damascus since a suicide attack on a church in June 2025, which claimed the lives of 25 people.
