Protests calling for the release of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) will continue today in Zadar, Croatia.

The demonstration is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.

The Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans Organization (OVL-UÇK) has announced the date and time for its sixth consecutive protest, demanding the release of the former KLA leaders currently standing trial in The Hague.

OVL-UÇK Chairman Hysni Gucati expressed hope that members of the Arbëreshë (Italo-Albanian) community in the region will also participate, saying they have shown interest in supporting the event.

The War Veterans Organization stated that it hopes this will be the final protest, expressing confidence that the former KLA leaders will return home in September.

Former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi, former parliamentary speakers Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi, and former MP Rexhep Selimi are being tried before the Kosovo Specialist Chambers on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

All four defendants have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The final verdict is expected to be delivered on September 16 at 10:00 a.m.
