The Kosovo Police, in cooperation with the Kosovo Customs, prevented a smuggling attempt today at the entrance to the Republic of Kosovo, specifically at the Hani i Elezit Border Police Station.
During a secondary inspection, officers stopped a vehicle with foreign license plates driven by a foreign national.
A search of the vehicle’s trunk uncovered 36 wristwatches that had been concealed and were not declared to customs authorities.
The undeclared goods were seized pending the completion of the relevant legal procedures, while legal proceedings have been initiated against the driver for failure to declare goods.
The Kosovo Police reiterated their commitment to working closely with Kosovo Customs and other relevant institutions to prevent and combat all forms of smuggling and other illegal activities at border crossing points.
