Several institutions in different parts of Albania received bomb threats by email on Thursday morning, prompting police to carry out security checks at the affected premises.
The emails, sent from an unidentified address, contained threats described by authorities as having a terrorist nature. Police were immediately deployed to verify the claims and search the buildings concerned.
No explosives have been found so far.
The State Police said inspections had not uncovered any bombs or other explosive materials, and urged the public to remain calm.
Albania’s cybercrime investigators are working with the Counter-Terrorism Directorate and other law-enforcement agencies to identify the sender and trace the electronic address used to distribute the threats.
Authorities have not indicated that there is a confirmed ongoing security threat, but investigations remain underway to establish who was behind the messages and whether the emails were part of a coordinated operation.
Police said security measures remain in place as the investigation continues, stressing that there is currently no reason for public panic.
The incident comes as Albanian authorities continue to strengthen cooperation between cybercrime and counter-terrorism structures in response to threats delivered through digital channels.
