U.S. President Donald Trump referred to Kosovo twice during his address to the United Nations in New York, highlighting what he described as his efforts to end conflicts around the world.
Trump praised the United Nations for supporting his peace plan for Gaza, which he presented as part of broader international efforts to resolve ongoing conflicts.
“I want to thank the United Nations for supporting the peace plan for Gaza,” Trump said.
The U.S. president then listed conflicts he said his administration had helped bring to an end, including what he described as the “conflict between Kosovo and Serbia.”
Trump also referred to Kosovo in connection with the planned role of its forces in the Peace Board, thanking Kosovo for its contribution to efforts aimed at stabilizing Gaza.
His remarks placed the Kosovo-Serbia dispute alongside other conflicts Trump cited as examples of his administration’s diplomatic efforts.
Trump’s characterization of the Kosovo-Serbia situation as a conflict that has been “stopped” reflects his own description of the situation rather than a formal change in the status of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
