The U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Kosovo, Anu Prattipati, visited NATO’s KFOR headquarters in Prishtina, where she met with KFOR Commander Major General Özkan Ulutash to discuss the security situation in Kosovo and the wider region.
According to KFOR, the meeting at Film City Camp provided an opportunity to discuss regional security developments and reaffirm KFOR’s commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo.
As his mandate as KFOR commander approaches its conclusion in mid-October, Major General Ulutash expressed his appreciation to Prattipati for her continued support and cooperation, while also highlighting what he described as the United States’ “longstanding and significant contribution” to the NATO-led mission.
KFOR said the meeting also underscored the importance of continued cooperation among international security actors in Kosovo.
The NATO-led mission reiterated that it continues to carry out its mandate under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, contributing to a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all people living in Kosovo.
KFOR said it continues to operate impartially and in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), within their respective security responsibilities.
