Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has announced that he met with U.S. President Donald Trump for the first time.
The meeting took place in New York during the High-Level Week of the United Nations General Assembly.
Kurti said that during the meeting, he thanked Trump for the increase in defense investment within NATO, emphasizing that Kosovo aims to join the Alliance.
“I thanked him for raising the wave of defense investment in NATO, which Kosovo should also join,” Kurti wrote.
He also emphasized the importance of relations between Kosovo and the United States, describing the U.S. as Kosovo’s main ally and an important partner.
