Kosovo Police have extradited a Kosovo citizen from Italy who was wanted internationally through INTERPOL, authorities said Tuesday.
The extradition of citizen S.S. was carried out by the Directorate for International Police Cooperation, in coordination with other relevant Kosovo Police units and justice institutions.
According to Kosovo Police, the suspect had been arrested by Italian authorities after an INTERPOL international arrest warrant was issued at the request of Kosovo justice institutions.
The suspect is wanted in connection with the criminal offenses of “participation in an organized criminal group” and “smuggling of migrants.”
Kosovo Police said the extradition was carried out in accordance with applicable laws and through close cooperation between the institutions of Kosovo and Italy.
Following his extradition, the suspect was handed over to the relevant police units in the Gjakova region for the continuation of legal proceedings.
