The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, will not meet today with the EU emissary for dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, due to the inconsistency of the country’s predetermined agenda.
This was announced by the president’s media adviser, Bekim Kupina.
“President Osmani does not have a meeting with Mr. Lajçak, the reason for the non-compliance with the President’s predetermined agenda”, he said.
During the day, Lajçak will be received in a meeting by the deputy prime minister, at the same time the chief negotiator of Kosovo for dialogue, Besnik Bislimi.
Lajcak visits Kosovo a day after a meeting in Athens with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Miloš Vučević.
After the meeting with the Serbian official, Lajcak said on X – the platform previously known as Twitter – that he talked with Vučević about the situation of dialogue with Kosovo and EU-Serbia relations.
Lajcak was supposed to start his mandate as ambassador to Switzerland from September 1 of this year, but something like that will not happen until a new official is appointed to the position he currently holds.
Lajcak’s visit to Kosovo is a continuation of his efforts to help find a stable solution for relations between Kosovo and Serbia, in accordance with European values and standards.
