The Foreign Minister of Serbia, Marko Gjurić, recently held a diplomatic meeting with his Argentine counterpart, Diana Mondino, to discuss the ongoing issue of Kosovo’s independence. Gjurić expressed his gratitude to Mondino for Argentina’s unwavering stance on not recognizing Kosovo’s independence, a position that Serbia strongly opposes. Despite the International Court of Justice’s ruling in 2009, which found that Kosovo’s independence aligns with international law, Serbia continues to lobby against it worldwide, including in Latin America.

In a cordial meeting with Diana Mondino, Gjurić emphasized the significance of Argentina maintaining its firm position on the status of Kosovo. He highlighted that this stance holds great importance for his country, as it directly affects Serbia’s national interests. Gjurić’s statement, shared on Thursday, underscored the need for continued support from Argentina in opposing Kosovo’s independence.

During the meeting, Gjurić also took the opportunity to express his appreciation to Minister Mondino for recognizing Serbia’s impressive economy. This acknowledgment further solidifies the positive bilateral relations between the two nations and serves as a testament to Serbia’s economic progress. The meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Serbia and Argentina signifies the ongoing diplomatic efforts to address the complex issue of Kosovo’s independence and highlights the importance of maintaining strong international alliances.
