Russia said its army have taken control of two villages in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, as Moscow’s forces continue to advance towards the town of Pokrovsky, northwest of the regional capital.

The Russian Defense Ministry said its troops took control of the villages of Porgres and Yevgenivka, located several kilometers apart.

A day earlier, Russia claimed to have taken control of the village of Lozuvatske, one of several villages it said it had captured this month in the Donetsk region.

Finally, the Kremlin has focused its offensive on the region, which it claimed to have seized months after launching a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian army announced on the morning of July 28 that it has repelled 29 attacks in this area, where Russia is trying to deploy its units. /REL/
