Israeli airstrikes in April hit three World Central Kitchen vehicles, killing seven people. Israel stated that the strike was not intended to target aid workers.

Israel’s counteroffensive has resulted in nearly 40,000 deaths in Gaza, mostly women and children, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, while Israel claims the toll includes thousands of Hamas fighters who have been killed.
