The Government of Kosovo has decided to increase the number of Ukrainian journalists and their immediate families who will be provided with temporary shelter in the country due to the war in Ukraine.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s government approved the amendment to a 2022 decision on Wednesday to expand the number of Ukrainian journalists receiving temporary shelter.

“The number of Ukrainian journalists, including their immediate family members, who will be provided temporary protection by the Republic of Kosovo will be increased,” Kurti said during the Government meeting.

In 2022, the Government had made a decision to shelter 20 Ukrainian journalists. It is believed that so far, 13 Ukrainian journalists have been accommodated in Kosovo.
