The KFOR General, Ozkan Ulutas, is concluding his term. He met with Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, in a farewell visit.

In KFOR’s announcement, it was stated that Ulutas thanked Kurti for their collaboration.

“At the end of his term as head of the NATO-led #KFOR mission, Major General Ozkan Ulutaş held a farewell visit today with Albin Kurti. Major General Ulutaş expressed his gratitude for the strong cooperation and dialogue developed in support of KFOR’s efforts.”

“He also reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the mission to foster a secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo, in line with KFOR’s long-standing mandate from the UN,” KFOR’s announcement stated.

Major General Enrico Barduani from Italy will take command of the mission on October 11, 2024.

The government of Kosovo, led by Albin Kurti, has had differences with KFOR, especially in recent months regarding the opening of the Ibar Bridge.
