The German ambassador to Prishtina, Jorn Rohde, announced on Wednesday that Kosovo will now be represented by its own officials in the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA).

Since joining CEFTA in 2007, Kosovo has been represented through the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).

“This is truly good news for Kosovo and the entire region: CEFTA is unblocked, and from now on Kosovo will be represented by its own officials, as it should be, not by UNMIK,” Rohde wrote on X.

He stated that this is a “significant step” toward equal representation and participation in this regional body.
