The new law on General Elections, approved in 2023, has introduced significant changes to the conditional voting process for the upcoming elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, scheduled for February 9, 2025.
According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), this type of voting will not be available at every polling station as it was in previous electoral processes.
Conditional voting will only be enabled at specific polling stations designated by the CEC.
This change in the General Elections Law was presented through a video message by CEC Spokesperson Valmir Elezi.
“The General Elections Law approved in 2023 has made several changes regarding conditional voting. Conditional voting is possible again, but this type of voting will not be available at every polling station as it was in previous electoral processes. In the upcoming elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, the CEC will designate the polling stations for conditional voting. The list of these stations will be published on the CEC website and other information channels,” stated Elezi in the informative video.
