The second contingent of Carabinieri from the General Inspectorate of Carabinieri (IGC) has been deployed to participate, on a rotational basis, in the international peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, as part of the Multinational Peacekeeping Force in Kosovo (KFOR).

“The participation of Moldovan Carabinieri in international peacekeeping missions is a concrete testimony of our country’s contribution to regional stability and security. The professionalism and dedication of our Carabinieri are recognized internationally, and these missions strengthen our cooperation with external partners and elevate Moldova’s prestige on the international stage,” said Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Efros during the deployment ceremony.

The Italian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Lorenzo Tomassoni, praised the involvement of Moldovan Carabinieri in the KFOR mission, emphasizing that this cooperation contributes to enhancing regional security and represents an important step in the country’s European integration process.

According to the authorities, the Carabinieri’s participation in these missions is an example of the Republic of Moldova’s commitments to the UN Charter and international treaties, thus demonstrating the country’s desire to promote global peace and security.
