The pro-Russian President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, on the evening of October 24.
Dodik is on the sanctions list of both the United States and the United Kingdom.
In a post on X, Dodik stated that he discussed the completion of the Serbo-Russian temple in Banja Luka and strengthening the tourism potential of Serbia and Russia with the Russian leader.
“It is always a special pleasure to meet a great world leader and a sincere friend of Republika Srpska,” Dodik wrote.
At the summit, organized by the Russian president, leaders from China, India, Brazil, South Africa, and other countries that are either members or seeking to join BRICS were also present.
This was the fifth meeting between Dodik and Putin since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and the eleventh meeting since 2014.
