Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci emphasized that the United States is Kosovo’s primary partner, a role it will continue to hold not only in military procurement but also in preparing the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) to meet its objectives.

“We procure military equipment exclusively from NATO countries. We have made, and continue to make, purchases from the United States, which remains our key partner, not only in terms of military acquisitions but also in the training, preparation, and doctrine of the KSF to achieve its goals,” the minister stated.

Maqedonci also mentioned an agreement reached with Turkey concerning various defense areas.

“At the end of January, a military framework agreement was signed with the Republic of Turkey. I was honored to be present with Turkey’s Defense Minister for the signing. This agreement, ratified by both Kosovo’s Assembly and Turkey, is broad in scope, covering several fields and providing the KSF with opportunities for further development,” Maqedonci explained.

“We continue to receive military supplies from Turkey, with nearly 7 million euros in donations provided by the company Baykar.”

Croatia, Italy, and Germany are among the countries from which Kosovo has made military purchases, though Maqedonci added that the country remains open to further military procurements with other nations.
