Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Donika Gërvalla Schwarz, commented today on the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue process. She criticized Slovak envoy Miroslav Lajčak, stating that the dialogue led by him has not produced the desired or promised results.
While Deputy Prime Minister Gërvalla expressed this negative assessment of Lajčak’s work, the European Union views the Brussels-Ohrid agreement mediated by him as legally binding, and it is now a condition on Kosovo’s path toward EU membership.
Moreover, Prime Minister Kurti insists on signing this agreement mediated by the Slovak envoy, despite Foreign Minister Gërvalla’s view that his efforts have not achieved the intended results.
“The dialogue led by Lajčak has not delivered the desired or promised results. We hope the upcoming Commission will start its work as soon as possible so we can see what opportunities the dialogue process will bring,” Gërvalla stated.
