Several of President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet appointees were targeted by “violent threats,” including bomb threats, a spokesperson for the incoming president said on Wednesday.

The threats were made on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. Law enforcement acted swiftly to ensure the safety of the individuals targeted, said spokesperson Karoline Leavitt in a statement.

She did not provide details on who was threatened or elaborate on the nature of the threats. By the time the news was published, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice had not responded to requests for comment.

Spokesperson Leavitt stated that among the threats were false reports made to law enforcement about a crime at a specific address, aimed at triggering a swift and armed response from law enforcement at the home of a particular individual.
