The Red and Black Flag and Balloons Take Over the Sky of Tirana on Independence Day

In “Skënderbej” Square, packed with citizens from all Albanian territories, the official ceremony of raising the national flag took place today, marking the 112th anniversary of Albania’s Independence. The festive atmosphere, filled with emotions and national pride, reached its peak with the sounds of the National Anthem, performed by the Brass Band.

The red and black flag proudly waved over the iconic square of the capital, with mayors from all Albanian regions present, alongside the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

The highlight came when the sky of Tirana was covered with thousands of red and black balloons, creating a wonderful spectacle. For a few moments, the solemn atmosphere was followed by applause and the enthusiasm of the participants, who experienced this historic day as a symbolic act of hope and unity.
