The Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, announced that the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) has been actively engaged in patrolling and securing key points of Kosovo’s critical infrastructure.
In a Facebook post, Maqedonci stated that these efforts aim to safeguard critical points from any threats or hostile forces against Kosovo and its citizens.
His comments accompanied photos of his visit, along with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, to static checkpoints and military patrols stationed along the water canal in the regions of Obiliq and Vushtrri. The visit provided an opportunity to speak with the deployed forces.
“These KSF tasks stem from decisions made during the last Security Council meeting, focusing on deploying the Force in support of civilian authorities. KSF Commander Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari and the General Staff have developed planning processes for the deployment of units at key points of Kosovo’s critical physical infrastructure,” Maqedonci said.
He emphasized that Kosovo’s security institutions maintain full and continuous inter-institutional coordination to address the needs of state and citizen protection, as well as the challenges of the security environment.
“Following the terrorist attack on the Ibër-Lepenc water canal in the village of Varagë, Zubin Potok, the Kosovo Security Force has intensified its efforts to fulfill its mission of protecting Kosovo’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as supporting civilian authorities,” Maqedonci concluded.
