The Kosovo Assembly has today approved the Mandatory Health Insurance Law. The draft law passed with 61 votes in favor and no opposition or abstentions.
“61 votes in favor, zero votes against, zero abstentions. I hereby declare that the Parliament has approved the Draft Law on Mandatory Health Insurance,” announced the Speaker of the Assembly.
Following the approval, Kosovo’s Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, expressed his satisfaction, stating that the law marks a fundamental step towards the establishment of health insurance in the country and stressed that this process is irreversible.
“We have just passed the law on mandatory health insurance in Parliament. This law is the cornerstone towards creating health insurance in our country. This process is now irreversible,” Vitia stated, emphasizing that this is a crucial step towards the fundamental transformation of public healthcare.
