Serbian opposition politician Dragan Đilas, in an interview with N1, described how he and others were attacked by a group led by Luka Petrović, one of the most prominent figures in Aleksandar Vučić’s party in Belgrade.

Đilas explained that this group, under Petrović’s leadership, physically attacked and struck them multiple times.

“That group, led by Luka Petrović, the city secretary for investments and one of the key people in the SNS, through whom all the decisions are made, attacked us and hit us several times,” Đilas said, speaking from the emergency room.

Đilas and Đorđe Aleksić were injured after a physical attack by several individuals who were putting up opposition posters across Belgrade, portraying them as thieves.

“Luka Petrović told me that I was a thief, and that’s why he hit me for the first time. They hit me a few times. We fought back as best we could, but eventually, I was knocked down. George tried to protect me, and he was hit harder than I was. When it was over, they ran into the street without any problems,” Đilas said.
