The President of the National Council of the Albanians, Nevzad Lutfiu, has reacted to the blocking of the main road in the town of Bujanoc by local Serbs yesterday.
Lutfiu stated that the roadblock took place to “celebrate” Orthodox Christmas.
In a social media post, he expressed his concern about this action, stating that the videos published show that they “wanted to enter the municipality like bandits.”
Lutfiu emphasized that these actions, which he considers unacceptable, will not follow any procedure because, as he claims, “they are Serbs.”
He harshly criticized the state for its double standards, adding that “instead of the state taking care of law and order, here the state motivates the hooligans.”
Comparing this situation with events from the previous year, Lutfiu mentioned the case of Albanian motorcyclists from the Municipality of Bujanoc, who were punished for organizing a parade on November 28th.
He considers this as an example of injustice and abuse by the state.
In the end, Lutfiu wished a happy Orthodox Christmas to all the fellow citizens who celebrated the holiday with dignity, stating: “I wish you a blessed celebration, health, and prosperity.”
