Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani met with a delegation of French National Assembly members today, discussing regional security challenges and the ongoing dialogue with Serbia.
During the meeting, Osmani highlighted Serbia’s continuous efforts to destabilize Kosovo and the broader region. She emphasized that Serbia’s lack of willingness to implement previously agreed-upon agreements remains a serious barrier to meaningful progress in the dialogue process.
“Speaking about regional security challenges, President Osmani stressed Serbia’s ongoing destabilization efforts against Kosovo and the entire region. She pointed out that these actions are deliberate and coordinated, citing the aggressive attack in Banjskë, as well as attacks and injuries to KFOR soldiers by Serbian gangs, along with the continued terrorist attacks orchestrated and supported by Belgrade,” the Kosovo Presidency stated.
Osmani also underlined the importance of Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, calling it a pivotal step for advancing human rights for all citizens. She urged France’s continued support for Kosovo’s accession to this important institution.
“Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe is a guarantee for protecting fundamental freedoms and enhancing democratic standards in the country. President Osmani reiterated that Kosovo will continue to stand by Euro-Atlantic values and work with international partners to secure a sustainable future for all its citizens,” the Presidency’s statement concluded.
