The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, met today with German Ambassador Jorn Rohde to discuss the political developments in Kosovo and the party’s stance on these issues.

In a social media post, Abdixhiku shared that the two had an in-depth conversation regarding Kosovo’s political situation, as well as the LDK’s position on these matters.

Abdixhiku emphasized the urgent need to lift the punitive measures imposed by the European Union on Kosovo, highlighting their negative impact on the country’s economic development and the well-being of its citizens. He called for a reconsideration of the EU’s decision, urging that the citizens of Kosovo should not bear the consequences of political developments.

“Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming the German Ambassador to Kosovo, Mr. Jorn Rohde, to our headquarters. During our meeting, we discussed the recent political developments in the country and the LDK’s positions on these issues. I expressed our gratitude for Germany’s continuous support to Kosovo in its Euro-Atlantic journey, in strengthening democratic institutions, and in economic development,” Abdixhiku wrote.

He further mentioned that the focus of the conversation was the pressing need to remove the EU-imposed sanctions, which he said are directly affecting Kosovo’s economic progress and the citizens’ well-being.

Additionally, Abdixhiku extended his congratulations to the new governing coalition in Germany, expressing confidence in the continued close cooperation between the two countries, particularly between the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and LDK. He also reaffirmed the shared commitment to strengthening and advancing the political and institutional collaboration between their parties.
