Following Kosovo’s recent parliamentary elections, the process of establishing the new legislature has officially begun. Starting yesterday, newly elected Members of Parliament began registering at the Assembly building in Prishtina, a formal step that precedes the inaugural session of the new legislative term.
After MPs from the Vetëvendosje Movement completed their registration on Thursday, today it is the turn of representatives from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) to finalize their documentation.
Meanwhile, MPs from the AAK-Nisma coalition and minority communities are scheduled to register on Monday.
This registration process is essential in order to hold the first official session of the new Assembly, which is set to take place on April 15, 2025. During that session, MPs will take their oaths, a new Speaker of Parliament will be elected, and the initial parliamentary structures will be formed.
This marks a significant step in shaping the direction of the next four years of governance and legislation in Kosovo.
