The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, paid tribute today to the martyrs of Brigade 133 “Adrian Krasniqi” and the victims of Lubizhdë e Hasit, on the anniversary of their sacrifice during the Kosovo Liberation War.

“Brigade 133 ‘Adrian Krasniqi’ of the Dukagjini Operational Zone, since its founding, stood as a strong pillar in the fight for freedom. Through its bravery and battles, it honored the name of the hero Adrian Krasniqi and the entire Kosovo Liberation Army,” Haradinaj wrote.

He proudly remembered the fighters who fell on April 12 and 13, 1999, naming the following martyrs who were immortalized during those days:
Ismet Bicaj, Skënder Maraj, Xhafer Mehmetaj, Izet Shatri, Nezir Mujaj, Bujar Visoqi, Abedin Dervishaj, Smajl Fetahaj, Xhafer Haskaj, Sylë Çeta, Qazim Hakaj, Nexhmedin Hakaj, Sami Gashi, and Njomëza Lipaj.

On this solemn anniversary, Haradinaj also honored national martyr Ekrem Dili, who, he said, “fell in defense of the territory and its people, becoming a permanent part of our national glory.”

He recalled the brutal massacre carried out by Serbian forces in Lubizhdë e Hasit during April 1999, where over 40 Albanians — most of them young — were executed. “This barbaric act remains a deep wound and a lasting reminder of the price of our freedom,” he stated.

Haradinaj concluded by emphasizing that although freedom came months later, “the sacrifice of the fallen remains an inspiration to build a strong and prosperous Kosovo, just as they had dreamed.”

“Eternal glory to those who gave their lives for freedom!” he wrote in closing.
