U.S. police have announced the arrest of a suspect accused of setting a fire at the home of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, a prominent figure in the Democratic Party.
Shapiro, who was mentioned last year as a potential running mate for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, ultimately saw Minnesota Governor Tim Walz selected instead.
At the time of the incident, the 51-year-old governor was at his official residence in Harrisburg, the capital of Pennsylvania, with his family, according to police reports.
Authorities confirmed that the fire was quickly extinguished, but part of the residence sustained damage.
