Kyiv and Washington have made progress on a minerals agreement, which will be formalized in a memorandum of understanding that is currently being finalized, said Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Yulia Svyrydenko, in a Facebook post.

“Our technical teams have worked hard together on this agreement – there has been significant progress. The legal teams have also placed proper focus on the draft agreement.

We have agreed with the American side to record this progress in a memorandum of intent, and we are preparing to finalize the agreement soon,” said Svyrydenko, who also serves as Ukraine’s Minister of Economy.

She added that work is ongoing on specific aspects of the main agreement, noting that “much has already been done.”
