Vetëvendosje MP Albulena Haxhiu still holds hope that she will secure the necessary votes to become Speaker of the Assembly.
“The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo must be constituted, and we sincerely hope for reflection from the opposition,” she briefly told reporters.
In today’s vote, Haxhiu received less support than in previous sessions, securing only 54 votes, compared to the 57 she had previously. Meanwhile, 44 MPs voted against her, and three abstained. A total of 110 MPs were present in the session.
This marked the eighth attempt to constitute the Assembly. Despite calls for the candidate to be changed, Vetëvendosje has remained firm in its proposal, stressing that Albulena Haxhiu is the most-voted woman and will remain their choice in every round of voting.
